Changes to Technical Specifications
The Territory Planning Authority may make technical specifications to support design guides and the Territory Plan under section 51 of the Planning Act 2023.
As the Technical Specifications role is to support the Design Guides and the Territory Plan, new Technical Specifications can be created and current ones revoked and replaced without the need for consultation with the public.
Generally, where changes to Technical Specifications relate to single-dwelling development, changes to the development controls are usually made to ensure that development which was previously exempt from requiring development approval remains exempt.
